DR Horton is the most active new construction builder in the Coastal Georgia market right now. As of May 2026, Horton has 12 communities across all four counties I cover — selling fresh inventory in three counties (West Chatham, Effingham, Bulloch) and breaking ground on their first Bryan County community in Richmond Hill. This page is the cross-cut: every active DR Horton community across the region, grouped by county.

Who DR Horton Is
DR Horton has been designing and building homes since 1978 and has been ranked America’s #1 Homebuilder every year since 2002 (Builder Magazine builder rankings). In Coastal Georgia, they operate out of their Savannah Division and run two distinct product lines that show up across these communities:
- Express Series® — the entry-tier product. Lower starting prices, smaller-footprint floor plans, modest amenity packages. Strong fit for first-time buyers, downsizers, and budget-conscious move-ups.
- Tradition Series℠ — the move-up tier. Larger homesites, premium specs (natural gas service, tankless water heaters, HardiePlank siding at some communities), 9-foot ceilings, more floor plan flexibility, broader amenity packages.
In addition, standard inclusions across both series: open-concept living, quartz or granite countertops, shaker-style cabinets, stainless steel appliances, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and Horton’s Home Is Connected smart home technology package.

Working With Me On a DR Horton New Build
DR Horton’s sales reps are friendly, professional, and well-trained. They’re also not on your side — they work for the builder. The standard Horton contract is builder-favored, the listed incentives are subject to change between visit and signing, and the lot premiums are not always worth what they’re priced at.
Specifically, what I bring to a Horton buyer: contract review before you sign, lot premium analysis, comp data on resale alternatives nearby, phase walkthroughs at framing and pre-drywall, closing-day deficiency list, and post-close warranty advocacy if the builder is slow to respond on month-6 or month-11 items. None of this costs you anything — the buyer’s agent commission is built into the home’s price whether you have representation or not.
